Obama signs order to fight childhood obesity

Hide your twinkies!  The Nanny State has found one more area that us poor peasants are incapable of handling on our own without Big Brother’s “help”.

The International Business Times reports:

President Barack Obama signed an executive order on Tuesday to support an initiative to fight childhood obesity shaped by First Lady Michelle Obama.  During his remarks today, Obama said childhood obesity is “one of the most urgent health issues we face in this country.”

Signing the executive order the government is creating a 90-day plan to coordinate the effort.

The government along with private sector companies, not-for-profit and other organizations will give support to parents to allow their children be more active and eat healthier, Obama said.

I wonder how many new unconstitutional powers this “task force” will have.   Since this Nanny State program is specifically targeting children, parents need to be vigilantly guarding their parental rights from government intrusion.

The annoying thing about Lefties isn’t so much that they promote “do-gooder” causes like eating healthy, but that they 1.) want to impose these values by force of law, and 2.) always exempt themselves as the hypocrites that they are.

Al Gore condemns us for our carbon footprints while flying around the globe in his private jet.   Congress exempts themselves, union and government employees from the same Health Care bill they want to inflict on the rest of us “little people”.  And Obama preaches the gospel healthy eating while taking the news crew out for In-N-Out burgers.

Maybe these Radicals should consider leading by example rather than oppressive laws.
